Farm to Fork

After the magical locavore dinner with Chef James Porter, Superstition Farm plans to win over Valley foodie’s hearts and stomachs with a local food series “Chef Du MOO” starting February 13. The series will run monthly through June on the second Saturday of each month. “Making award winning butter, cheese and ice cream has put me together with some great chefs” said Casey Stechnij, owner of Udder Delights desserts and co-owner of Superstition Farm. Co-owner and sister Alison Crittenden adds, “Being in the Agriculture community we also have some great friends growing some great foods.”

The next step was to put them together. Superstition Farm will work with three local farmers who will supply all of the greens, veggies and fruit for a dinner at the farm. Another local producer (TBA) will provide a protein. Superstition Farm will provide the dairy and Udder Delights will provide a scrumptious dessert.

The goal of the dinners is to provide the same ingredients to different chefs with different global cuisine influences and see where their creativity, talent and palette takes the menu. While we hope the ingredients stay the same, Mother Nature will also have a say in what is delivered to each chef during spring. Bring an empty stomach and find out!

A cocktail hour will start the evening. Guests will mingle with the farmers and the friendly animals at Superstition Farm. Entertainment from live art painting to esteemed local talents like Zarco Guerrero will also be a part of these memorable evenings.

Prices are $65 per person or $80 with dinner paired with wine. Discounts are available for guests participating in the entire dinner series. A local sommelier will also be available for wine by the glass. Seating will be limited. Celebrate local foods with local farmers, chefs and artists.
